PROFESSIONAL PERFORMANCE

Dr. Cruchet began her academic activities at the INTA of the U of Chile in 1995, as a participant in research studies on diarrhea and malnutrition in the community, in unprotected sectors of Santiago and surrounding areas where there were very poor communities with a very high incidence of acute diarrhea, persistent diarrhea and secondary malnutrition where the investigation group published various papers and managed to reduce diarrhea episodes from 3 per year to one per child per year.

Then she went to Canada to complete a training stay with Dr. Penchards in nutrition and Dr. Durie in gastroenterology, where she studied food allergies in infants for the first time and learned the diagnosis and treatment to return to Chile, and establish the first Clinical challenges in the INTA polyclinic.

Later, in 1994, she completed a master's degree in pediatric gastroenterology and nutrition at the University of Andalusia, Spain. In 1996, she began at ad honorem stay at the San Borja Arriarán Hospital, forming part of the Hospital's gastroenterology team, to perform procedures, see outpatients and hospitalized patients, make consultations and complete her gastroenterological training, obtaining the title of gastroenterologist in 2001. She worked at the San Borja Arriarán Hospital for 12 years.

During her stay at the hospital, Dr. Cruchet teaches pediatric gastroenterology students and fellows during their training with the gastroenterology group on topics of clinical gastroenterology, nutrition, and gastroenterological procedures.

Simultaneously, she maintained her hours at INTA carrying out clinical and teaching work for master's students and fellows in gastroenterology and pediatric nutrition.

All the work carried out led to her being invited to be part of the Latin American Society of Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Pediatric Nutrition, LASPGHAN, where she was later part of its board of directors and finally was its president for 3 years (2008-2011), making changes in great importance in its structure, transparency and international recognition.

Throughout this period she has been part of the International and National Societies of gastroenterology and nutrition, as a lecturer, organizer of congresses and scientific meetings and has managed to create consensus and international guides for different pediatric entities (in nutrition and gastroenterology).

Among the most relevant activities of her activity is the participation in international consensus guidelines on the use of probiotics and management of food allergies in pediatrics in Latin America. At the national level, she has been an opinion leader on both issues and has carried out studies for the Ministry of Health on the incidence of allergy to cow's milk protein in Chile, which have led to having an impact on public health, starting the delivery of free special formulas to children with cow's milk protein allergies in the public sector.

Likewise, she has participated as an advisor in private institutions such as Nestlé Nutrition in Chile and has been a Member of the Nutrition Advisory Committee for the same. Also, I have participated as an Advisor in the Probiotics area of Laboratorio Merck Chile, Laboratorio Merck Ecuador and Merck Colombia, and since 2011 in Abbott Latin America and Biocodex France laboratories, giving talks and training for medical visits, company managers and doctors. from Latin America and Chile, especially in the area of food, nutrition and updating topics to improve child nutrition.

He is currently forming the Chilean Society of Microbiota, Probiotics and Prebiotics, which until now did not exist in Chile.

DISTINCTIONS

Scholarship from the International University of Andalusia, to complete the Master's Degree in Gastroenterology and Pediatric Nutrition in 1994, consisting of tuition, food, housing and maintenance in general.
